Also known as the Society of Friends Cemetery, it is all that remains of a community of Quakers that had its roots in early Newmarket, West Gwillimbury, and Tecumseth. It lays on part of a 100-acre property which was purchased by Peter Doyle, Quaker, in 1825. In 1834, Doyle gave the southeast corner of the property to the Society of Friends. At this point, the cemetery was already in use. The last burial recorded on an existing stone was in 1944.
