Waste Management

Combined Bulky & Metal Item Collection - June 4th, 2012

Victoria Day Waste Management Notice

Garbage

Effective September 29, 2008, the County of Simcoe launched the curbside organics collection program.  This is another step towards greater waste reduction and diversion.  County Council approved a 1 bag or container of garbage per house per week.  Tags are only for household garbage, and not for bulky items or yard waste.  Let's continue working together for the greater good of Simcoe County and our environment.

Note: To encourage maximum participation in the recycling and green bin programs, the price of garbage tags for waste over the one bag/week limit has increased to $3.00 per tag, sold in sheets of 5 for $15.00. The yellow, $2.00 garbage tags are permitted to be used until April 1st, 2012, following which additional bags must have a new $3 tag affixed in order to be eligible for collection. Garbage Container Size and Weight Limits
